  The primary goal of education in the Butler Area School District is the maximum individual development and adjustment of each student for effective living in a democratic society, through the development of concepts and generalizations essential to an understanding of human relationships. Butler Area School District will not tolerate statements or behavior by any member of the School District which insults, degrades, harasses, or stereotypes any other person on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, handicap, physical condition, socioeconomic background, ethnic or national origin, or religion in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the laws of the United States. To bring this philosophy into practice, it is necessary to develop each student's ability to think rationally for the solution of life's problems. If such thinking is to be stimulated to its fullest extent, a unified, comprehensive curriculum must be made available. All curricular activities must be planned to encourage the acquisition of skills which will provide the means for acquiring and sharing ideas. Attention must be given to the development of clear understandings as well as to desirable attitudes and behavioral patterns related to civic responsibility. An appreciation for the fine and practical arts must be encouraged. Experiences which will contribute to future economic efficiency must be integral parts of curriculum planning. Relatively equal emphasis must be attached to programs to prepare both the young people who are anticipating further education as well as those for whom public school is a terminal educational experience. Experiences which foster the maximum growth of each student are essential. Equal acceptance and appropriate opportunities for the gifted, the average, and the less able must be provided.

  The mission of the Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School is to empower students with the skills necessary for continuous development, education, and employment. The programs at our school are designed to meet the needs of students as well as occupational requirements in the labor market. Courses offered to young men and women will prepare students of all ability levels to enter jobs in technical, skilled, and semi-skilled occupations after high school graduation or after technical school or college training.

  Located in Butler and Armstrong Counties in Western Pennsylvania, the Freeport Area School District serves approximately 2,000 students who reside in Freeport Borough, Buffalo Township, and South Buffalo Township. Our 255 employees provide educational services to students in three elementary and two secondary buildings. The mission of the Freeport Area School District is to serve as 鈥渁 learning community dedicated to the success of all鈥�.

  The Seneca Valley School District, 124 Seneca School Road, Harmony, PA, is a suburban district located in Jackson Township, Southern Butler County, Western Pennsylvania. It is approximately 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh, is in close proximity to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and is adjacent to Interstate 79. The district covers 100 square miles and includes Cranberry, Forward, Jackson and Lancaster townships and Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Seven Fields and Zelienople boroughs. In collaboration with family and community, the mission of the Seneca Valley School District is to provide an academically rigorous learning experience in a progressive environment emphasizing civic responsibility and global awareness.

• SLIPPERY ROCK AREA SD

  
  

  The Slippery Rock Area School District is located in northern Butler County. The district serves approximately 2350 students in three elementary school, a middle school and a high school. The mission of the Slippery Rock Area School District is to educate students, in a supportive environment, to become lifelong learners and productive, responsible citizens.

• SOUTH BUTLER COUNTY SD

  
  

  Our school district serves students in the townships of Clinton, Jefferson, Penn and Winfield, along with Saxonburg Borough in Southern Butler County. Four schools make up the school district - Knoch High School (9-12), Knoch Middle School (6-8), South Butler Intermediate Elementary School (4-5) and South Butler Primary School (K-3). These buildings house approximate 2,850 students of our community and employs 279 people: 16 administrative/management personnel, 183 teachers, and 80 support staff. Our Mission...to provide a quality education for all students to become productive members of society.
