• BEAR RIVER CHARTER SCHOOL

  
  

  The mission of the Bear River Charter School (BRCS) is to provide an outstanding educational and social experience for elementary and middle school students (K-8). We aspire to serve a population that is diverse in learning needs, race/ethnicity, and language background. BRCS provides a positive, dynamic social and educational environment every day. It features an educational program based on the individual needs of each student through a strong focus on basic skills in reading, spelling, writing and mathematics; active engagement in the areas of science, social studies, art, Spanish, and physical education; a low student-to-teacher ratio; and emphasis on basic societal values of respect, consideration, cooperation and honesty.

  Cache County School District serves students from the following communities: Amalga, Avon, Benson, Cache Junction, Cornish, Cove, Hyrum, Lewiston, Millville, Nibley, Newton, North Logan, Paradise, Petersboro, Providence, Richmond, River Heights, Smithfield, Trenton, Wellsville. At Cache County School District, it is our mission to prepare our students to function effectively in a global, technological society as competent, productive, caring and responsible individuals.

  Mission: Through collaborative partnerships, the Edith Bowen Laboratory School will serve the state of Utah and nation as a unique and dynamic educational institution. It will foster a diverse, interactive, and inviting school environment where the community of learners extends from kindergartner to adults. The school commits itself to building capable, life-long learners through developmentally appropriate education, applied research, and innovative educational practices. Vision: We value children and respect their curiosity and potential. We commit to providing a learning environment that allows and encourages children to explore connections between their learning and the world around them.

  The mission of Fast Forward Charter High School is to provide a safe nurturing environment where students who may be at risk of not completing high school requirements can be challenged with curriculum presented to accommodate their unique learning styles. Our primary goals are to help students discover their academic potential and furnish them with the tools to promote lifelong learning and civic responsibility.

  Belief Statements: We believe that it is the district鈥檚 responsibility to provide a safe, caring, orderly, and positive environment in which emotional, physical, and social well being abounds and where both students and staff feel appreciated and respected. We believe in a culture of excellence in which expectations for student achievement are high and world-class opportunities are provided whereby excellence and improvement can be demonstrated. We believe that education needs to be focused on individual students as much as possible and that appropriate learning avenues should be provided to reach and challenge all learners, including students who are gifted and talented, students with disabilities, and students from all cultural backgrounds. We believe that the school district must be staffed with educators and administrators who are highly qualified and experts at implementing research-based instruction, using meaningful curriculum, and assessing student performance in a reliable and valid manner. We believe that parental and community involvement is critical in educating children, including volunteering at the school and providing strong input into the decision making process, with a commitment from the schools to ensure that communication occurs through multiple avenues.

• THOMAS EDISON - LEA

  
  

  The original Thomas Edison Charter School opened its doors in August, 2002, and began operations at its permanent 9,100 square foot North Logan facility on September 3rd, 2002. Since then, the North Logan school has expanded twice and its facility has grown to its present size of 33,500 square feet. In September 2005, Thomas Edison Charter School 鈥� South (TECS-S) opened the doors of its 33,000 square foot facility in Nibley, Utah. In 2007, the TECS-S facility expanded to 46,000 square feet with plans to grow to 50,000 square feet later. The combination of both campuses is authorized to enroll up to a total of 1,350 students, serving grades K-9. The mission of Thomas Edison Charter Schools is to provide all students the fundamental knowledge, tools, and discipline to become successful, reputable citizens in our country and to become high achievers in our ever evolving, demanding, and complex society. The mission is carried out through a stimulating academic curriculum, focused on elemental skills development, in a structured classroom environment, with strong parental involvement.
