  Clarkstown Central School District is located in Rockland County, approximately 25 miles northwest of New York City. Consistently rated as one of the top five safest cities in America in the annual Morgan Quitno Safest Cities survey, Clarkstown is an upper middle class suburban community with a population of about 85,000 residents.聽A large district serving more than 9,100 students from a 31 square mile area, Clarkstown prides itself on fostering a small school climate, community involvement and a focus on the individual in its ten elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and K-12 alternative education center. The district offers innovative programs to its students through web based technology such as Science 21, Dreambox, Achieve 3000 and Google Chrome. It is also one of the first district鈥檚 in Rockland County to create a dedicated task force against Bullying and implement a Bullying Prevention policy. District buildings have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 prestigious EnergyStar, the national symbol for superior energy efficiency and environmental protection which places us in the top 25 percent of commercial facilities in the nation. In addition, the district is a GreenQuest sponsor, offering homeowners a free, personal energy information website to track and evaluate their energy use and environmental impact.

The district educates students in grades kindergarten through twelve who reside within district boundaries under the auspices of the New York State Education Department Pearl River student performance ranks among the top perfoming schools in New York State. On average, 99% of the senior class graduates each year and 96% continue on to college or university. Pearl River graduates gain acceptance into many of our country's finest schools.

• RAMAPO CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (SUFFERN)

  
  

  For the 2011-12 academic year, a total of 4,619 children are enrolled in the Ramapo Central School District鈥檚 5 elementary schools, 1 middle schools and 1 high school. The district serves students residing in the Rockland County communities of Airmont, Hillburn, Montebello, Sloatsburg, Suffern, Tallman, and part of Monsey.聽聽Academic Excellence:Six Suffern High School students received National Merit Scholarship Letters of Commendation in September 2011. In 2011-12, 34 Suffern High School students were selected to perform in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State Music Festival. 131 Suffern High School students earned Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Awards for exceptional achievement on examinations taken during their high school careers, as of June 2011. Of those awarded, 10 were named National AP Scholars鈥攖he highest honor鈥攆or earning a score of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.A 6th grade Suffern Middle School student was one of 2010-11 winners of the National STEM Video Challenge Contest, a multi-year White House initiative
