  Coast Unified School District is located on the Central Coast of California in the community of Cambria. The district consists of one K-5 elementary school, one 6-8 middle school, one traditional 9-12 high school and one alternative high school. There are approximately 810 students enrolled K-12. The District also serves the communities of San Simeon to the north and Cayucos to the south (grades 9-12) as well as surrounding rural areas.The area鈥檚 economy is primarily based on the tourism and agriculture industries. The economic status of the local population is very diverse and includes low, middle and high-income families.

• LUCIA MAR UNIFIED

  
  

  Located along the California Central Coast between Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo, Lucia Mar is the largest school district in San Luis Obispo County. Governed by a seven member Board of Education, Lucia Mar proudly educates more than 10,700 students who attend Lucia Mar's eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, one continuation high school, and one adult education program. Ongoing partnerships with the regional occupational program (ROP), community colleges, state universities, and local businesses also provide an important role in educational improvement.

Toward that end, the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education will provide educational programs for children with special needs; serve as a clearinghouse for resources and information; offer specialized business services and professional development; advance state-of-the-art technology; coordinate partnerships among schools, their communities and businesses and act as an advocate for all children and public schooling on the Central Coast.
