About School District: Troy Public Schools is K-12 School district located聽along the banks of聽the Kootenai聽River聽in the rugged mountains聽of northwest聽Montana.聽聽You can reach聽Troy by traveling along聽U.S. Highway 2 just 15 miles before you聽reach the Idaho panhandle.聽聽Troy boasts聽of being the town with the lowest elevation in the state of Montana at 1880聽feet above sea level.聽聽The rugged mountains聽near聽Troy聽include those of the聽Cabinet Mountain Wilderness area.聽聽Logging聽and the wood聽products industry聽were once聽major聽employers of聽Troy's聽residents.聽 Today many of聽those who live in聽Troy聽work at聽the Troy聽silver聽and copper mine,聽Troy School聽District,聽or the U.S. Forest聽Service.聽聽During the summer there are numerous聽places to hike,聽fish, boat,聽and raft.聽 Snowmobiling,聽snow shoeing,聽and skiing are favorite winter sports.Troy Public Schools educate approximately 400 students in grades K-12. Students in grades 7-12 attend Troy High School while students in grades K-6 attend W. F. Morrison Elementary
